What happens to a quarantine virus if the anti virus is expired?i have avira..?

when your anti-virus expires the viruses stay in quarantine...don't delete them, some viruses multiply when you delete them...mostly the Trojan ones...you should be fine though...renew your anti-virus though ASAP.
