Can someone clear up this political contradiction for me?

Some right-wingers are saying President Obama is appointing too many "czars." Some (sometimes the same ones) are saying he's a "socialist" or even a "communist." Now, as I understand history, the socialists and communists hated the czars, and finally succeeded in overthrowing the last one in 1917. Therefore... Obama can't be both a socialist (or a communist) AND a man who puts his faith in czars. Can he? If so, explain.
