Putting up shelves on a brick wall?

I'm wanting to put shelves up in my kitchen but noticed that the underlying wall is actually the fireplace back. I don't really want to put anything heavy on the shelves - maybe some decorative bottles. How could I go about putting up shelves? If I can't drill into the wall,etc. is there any kind of heavy duty adhesive that would hold them up?
