Pitbull Owners/experts..please help. How do I get my 10 mnth 60lb pit from chewing on everything in site.?

Adopted him as a pup coz the little rascal had nowhere to go but the pound. Is very people/children friendly and playful but too hyper. Loves to jump and roll with people and doesn't realize own strength. However couple problems, he chews anything in site, actually dug up my underground sprinkler hoses and pulled the entire layout from the ground. what can I do. Also whats the best dog food for a almost yr old pit. Another thing, he has tough claws(nails) that he consistently uses to dig up holes in the backyard. Can I clips his nails and should I. Will short nails prevent him from digging. Thank you for any info/advise
